GO! SEE! EXPLORE! :: Sweet Noshings (East Memphis location)
When I first moved to Memphis, I remember exploring Overton Square and stumbling upon a cute (and packed) candy, ice cream, popcorn, and coffee store to *nosh* on after dinner. Then life happened, and I never really found myself going over there much. But then Sweet Noshings opened their second location 5 minutes from my house, off of Perkins Extended.
I walked in and immediately thought I had walked into one of those famous candy stories in a big city (you know the ones), but Sweet Noshings is cooler than that!
I don’t even know where to begin. Do I start by telling you how surprised I was to find that the store goes deeeeeep into the back, where the many yummy ice cream flavors live? Including: boozy, 21+ only ice cream?! And masala chai??
Or do I tell you about the long zig-zag of candy containers that goes down the middle of the store, where you can purchase your favorites and create your own candy mix by the pound? They have different chocolate covered nuts and pretzels, sour candy, gummy candy, sour gummy candy, various chocolate-covered espresso beans…even an entire section of Christmas themed candies (and it’s not even Christmas)!
I also spotted a specific section of chocolate from The Function Chocolate Company, chocolate that “contains a proprietary blend of carefully researched nutraceuticals, vitamins, minerals, botanicals, amino acids and other thoughtful natural ingredients, in a base of ethically sourced, naturally vegan, and gluten free dark chocolate”! They had bars that help you stabilize stress, promote sleep, and get you going. What mama doesn’t want that?
What about the JellyBelly alcove where every flavor imaginable is available to you, and the colorful arrangement draws you in like a fly to a lightbulb? Or do I tell you about the sweet section of decorated cookies – Memphis ones, wedding ones, baby ones, birthday ones?
I could go on and on. There’s candy sushi, ginger chews, and assorted Haribo gummies. There’s a wall of different flavored popcorn that you can mix and match. There’s macarons, fudge, and a wall of different sodas. Truly, anything your sweet tooth could desire, you can find at Sweet Noshings!
