GO! SEE! EXPLORE! :: Monster MiniGolf
Monster MiniGolf is one of the newest hypes in the Cordova area. With it being Halloween soon, this would a great month to go check out this place! They have some special events this month as well.
It’s only about 1 mile from Shelby Farms, and your kids can run off some energy indoors and play mini golf, laser tag, or arcade games. They also host amazing birthday parties (their birthday party room looks spooky in a fun way)!
We went to MonsterMiniGolf in Cordova around lunchtime on a hot day in August, and it was the perfect way to cool off while burning off some energy. Parking is right in front of the door, and walking in is as fun as you could possibly imagine, as you can immediately see all the glow in the dark effects and the fun arcade space as you walk in. You can pay at the register on the right as you walk in, or you can pre-pay for packages online.
We went straight to the mini-golf course, were given instructions, and had fun playing. Each hole is a little different, with ups/downs/curves/etc. The course is not very hard, so each age can have fun playing. There are lots of glow in the dark paintings and special effects. They have a lot of animatronic props, but nothing was too scary or spooky for our 4 year olds. No particular holes besides the dinosaur hole had anything “activate” as you played when we played the course. The animatronic creatures turned on either as you walked by or were set on a random timer.
My favorites on the course were probably the dinosaur (mid-course) and the clown (last hole). But there were plenty of other fun skeletons and spooky props mixed in. Like a normal mini-golf course, there are 18 holes, and you can keep score if you wish to do so (we didn’t because we just wanted to have fun playing without worrying about a scorecard).
Adult mini-golf is $12 and kids are $9. With a paying adults, some kids under a certain height can actually play free (you can measure at the front)! Laser Tag is $9 for one game, but we didn’t play that this time, so we will have to come back soon. The arcade games vary in price. We just got a $5 card and played a few games. The arcade has anything from skeeball to claw machines to air hockey. The individual games were a bit expensive, but they sure are fun and get you hooked! Depending on how many points you get on your arcade card, you get to pick out a fun little prize at the end. They also have a little cafe within the arcade, but it was closed when we went.
This place is definitely fun for all ages. We went with someone as young as age 4 and we even had a grandma with us that played the arcade games while we did the mini golf course. You can probably spend anywhere from 1 to 3 hours in this place, depending on how many games you play. The price is very reasonable for its value, and I definitely think the glow in the dark mini golf was for sure one of my favorite courses I have ever played. They do also host birthday parties and special events, so definitely check them out and keep them in mind for a future party! We will be back.
