Southern Arkansas pine forests run through her veins, but Melanie loves to disappear in foreign cities. Memphis is the perfect mix of urban wood and she has loved it’s unpretentious grit since she first moved to midtown in 1998. Now a single mom of first grader, Oscar (2012), she strives to balance her love of cooking Southern food from scratch with homework and bedtime. During the workday, she is blessed to be practicing in the field of comprehensive movement and massage therapy which is currently motivating her towards a degree in Kinesiology. In her downtime, which is rare, she enjoys painting and making crafty stuff with her son.
