Parenting Podcasts Round-Up!
Here at MMC, we’re big fans of podcasts. Podcasts have become the go-to medium for learning something new, and parenting-related topics are no different! So when I recently put out a call for favorite parenting podcasts, our community delivered!
We’ve included podcasts from a variety of parenting philosophies, perspectives, and styles, so whether you’re a podcast connoisseur or just getting started, there’s something for everyone in our (non-exhaustive) parenting podcast round-up!
Note: Some of these podcasts (or specific episodes) may include strong language or mature content, so they may be better suited for listening via headphones or on solo drives.
1.) Oh Crap I Love My Toddler But Holy F*ck by Jamie Glowacki. You may know Jamie Glowacki’s name from her incredibly popular book Oh Crap Potty Training, but she also provides general parenting advice in her second book, as well as her podcast. Her approach to parenting is no-nonsense, realistic, practical, blunt, and timely. If you like her writing style and parenting philosophy, you’ll LOVE her podcast. There are plenty of episodes in the back catalog, but currently, her new podcast episodes are only available to Patreon supporters, which is only $1 per month!
2.) The Longest Shortest Time by Hillary Frank. Even though the show is on hiatus, it’s definitely still worth your time. This award-winning podcast describes its format as “stories about the surprises and absurdities of raising other humans—and being raised by them.” Episodes include a wide variety of topics (like sex and parenthood, and maternal workplace discrimination). Not sure where to start? Check out this list of notable episodes, curated by Hillary herself.
3.) Precious Little Sleep by Alexis Dubief and cohosts. I recommend Alexis’s book Precious Little Sleep to pretty much every parent I know. It’s a genius guide to creating healthy sleep habits, and providing tons of strategies that are, you know, actually realistic. While her podcast doesn’t seem to be active right now, the archived episodes are still parenting gold.
4.) Unruffled by Janet Lansbury. This podcast focuses on parenting babies and toddlers through the lens of respectful parenting, which accepts a child’s emotions while setting firm limits. It seeks to provide practical, calming advice to empower parents while viewing their children as whole, complete humans.
5.) Our Mothers’ Gardens by Satya Nelms. The managing editor of mater mea hosts this insightful podcast that seeks “to give Black women a platform to share stories that will spark conversations within our community about the impact of our maternal ancestry.” Bonus: here’s a list curated by mater mea of 20 podcasts made for Black moms, by Black moms

11.) Motherhood in Black and White by Kaanji Irby and Tara Campbell. The Gen-X cohosts of this podcast explore the intersection of race, motherhood, and pop culture all through the lens of friendship, and moms who are, in their words, “doing the best we can.”
