Feed Your Child’s Curiosity with Intrude

This post is sponsored by the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, however we honestly do love this exhibition. Our excitement and opinions are 100% genuine and ours!

Over the past year, the Brooks Museum of Art has undergone a lot of changes, all of which we’ve been crazy about. From the breathtaking Rotunda Projects (the current one, Sheer Audacity, is incredible!), to RedBall Memphis this past spring, and the added kid-friendliness of the museum itself, it’s become one our favorite places to bring our kids.

The Brooks Museum has a brand new Brooks Outside exhibition that opens today: Intrude. This exhibition is one of those awe-inspiring sights that just about everyone will enjoy.

Intrude is a widely acclaimed exhibition by artist Amanda Parer, and it will be at the Brooks Museum of Art starting today (January 18, 2017), and will be on display until January 29. Featuring several 20-foot lighted rabbits curiously spread across the lawn, this exhibition is one you really shouldn’t miss. You can visit the bunnies between 10:00am and 8:00pm daily!

There are some guidelines for the exhibition, and we ask that you please keep these in mind when you bring your children:

Please be nice and treat them like real bunnies!
You are welcome to gently pet and hug the bunnies.
Please do not hit, jump, roll or crawl over or under the bunnies.
No food, drink or smoking near the bunnies.
No furry friends around the exhibition, please.

There’s also an Instagram contest that the Brooks Museum of Art is hosting, and you’ll want to get in on it!

Follow @brooksmuseum on Instagram.
Take your best Brooks Outside: Intrude photo.
You must tag photo with #BrooksMuseumBunnies.

Each daily winner will receive a Brooks Museum Family Membership and will be chosen each day of the exhibition based on creativity. Contest begins at 10 am, Wednesday, January 18 and ends at 8 pm, Sunday, January 29, 2017.

The daily winners will be announced at noon beginning Thursday, January 19 on the Brooks Museum’s social media channels.

Hoppy Hour

On Saturday, January 21, there is a FREE event for families from 3:00pm until 7:00pm. Hoppy Hour gives you a chance to admire the bunnies of Intrude while enjoying hot chocolate, giveaways and live music.

Beginning at 4:00, the first 60 visitors to sign up at Hoppy Hour can take part in a nature hike of the 126-acre Old Forest State Natural Area, put on by Overton Park Conservancy. Spend an hour learning about the flora and fauna of the area!
