Disney+ Is Every Millennial Mom’s Dream Come True
This month marked a major milestone in the lives of Millennial moms and dads everywhere … Disney+ is here!
If you’re a Disney fan, you’ve probably signed up for its new streaming service, Disney+ (pronounced “Disney Plus”), that launched on Tuesday, November, 12, after much-awaited anticipation. Parents across the country are reliving their childhood with their own kids rewatching classics like “Aladdin,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Lion King,” and “Sleeping Beauty,” not to mention the vault of Disney Channel TV gold (Welcome back from the early 2000s, “That’s So Raven” and “Lizzie McGuire!”), Mickey Mouse classics like “Tugboat Mickey,” and a plethora of Pixar films. (I may or may not have already watched all the animated shorts … )
It’s a Millennial Mom’s dream come true.
You’ll also have access to titles from Marvel, the Star Wars franchise, and National Geographic with your monthly Disney+ subscription. There’s also a second option to add on Hulu and ESPN+, in case you need even more incentive to ditch your cable subscription. With more than 7,500 episodes of past and current TV shows, 400-plus films, 100-plus recent movies, and more than 25 original series made exclusively for the app, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
That’s right, Disney has found a way to market nostalgia at our fingertips, and I am all for it.
In fact, there’s so much Disney nostalgia happening right now that there’s a full Reddit thread dedicated to it. Gen Z kids are being introduced to classic Disney films that their parents grew up watching, and their parents get to fall in love with the movies of their childhood all over again.
One Reddit parent wrote about how their 16-year-old son had emerged from his “lair” for the first time to watch TV with her. She posted a photo of her him watching “Beach Picnic”, a 1939 short film featuring Donald Duck.
Thanks to Disney+ my 16 year old son has come out of his lair to watch classic cartoons with me.

This kid’s reaction to watching “Steamboat Willie” sparks pure joy.
Remember how unsatisfied you were with the modern, live-action versions of classics like Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella? (Or maybe that was just me? I mean, if it ain’t broke … ) Well, now that your kids are hooked on the remakes, you can show them the real Disney MVPs in all their animated glory.
Nothing says “Holiday Season” like cuddling up on the couch with your entire family to watch a high-quality, feel-good movie. Whether you’re in the mood for princesses, space battles, superheroes, love stories, or something educational, Disney+ is sure to be a winning choice with every member of your family.
