Sweet Cheeks Diaper Ministry :: Our October Nonprofit of the Month

Sweet Cheeks Diaper Ministry is a local, nonprofit 501c3 organization founded to provide clean, dry diapers to families in need.  The mission of the organization is to meet the basic needs of families by providing diapers, wipes, and other necessities for their babies and improving their quality of life. The vision of the organization is to create a community that is passionate, aware, and dedicated to happy and healthy babies.

  • Did you know that 1 in 3 families struggle with diaper need?

  • Did you know that 39% of Memphis children live below the poverty line?

  • Did you know that federal programs such as food stamps/SNAP and WIC do not cover diapers?

  • Did you know Sweet Cheeks Diaper Ministry is one of 3 Diaper Banks in Tennessee recognized by the National Diaper Bank Network?

donate diapers

This is where Sweet Cheeks Diaper Ministry comes in. Since 2014 we have donated over 200,000 diapers to Memphis families and our goal is to increase that number by year’s end. This is only made possible through the generous funding we have received from members of our community and the citizens of Memphis like you.  Sweet Cheeks Diaper Ministry collects diapers and monetary donations to purchase diapers from people like you. We then partner with local social service providers to distribute those diapers to families in need. When families in need go to our partnering agencies for other services – maybe food for the family, job assistance, or child care – they can also receive the gift of your diaper donation.

diaper ministry

This year, though. we are specifically seeking donations to reach our goal of donating 100,000 diapers.  We hope that you will be able to join us in helping make our goal a reality. You can donate by hosting a diaper drive at your company or school (we will provide Diaper Drive Toolkit to help you), raise money through fundraising, or you can give directly to us via our website www.sweetcheeksdiaperministry.org.  With monetary donations, we are able to purchase diapers in bulk at a discounted rate through our partnership with Huggies and JetCares; this helps your dollar stretch further. No amount is too small! Any support will be highly appreciated by us and the kids that we provide a service to.

We also like to get the community involved! We host several diaper wrapping parties throughout the year, so volunteers can see what we do and how we’re helping mid-south families.  For more information you can visit our website or email us at.

It’s Time :: Moms, Let’s Do Better
I have a serious question. (This rarely happens. *wink*) When did it become okay to be late? Veterans Day and Our Kids
My first memories of celebrating Veterans Day are from elementary school. In my tiny hometown of Bruceton, TN, we had an awesome celebration each year to honor veterans in the area. Since our school had kindergarten through 12th grade in the same building, the entire school attended the program. I have such fond memories of the Veterans of […]
