Transfor{m}ama :: Created for Mamas, Transformational for All

Have you heard of Transfor{m}ama? It's the newest "work & play" studio in town. Owned by two Memphis moms, Layne Carden and Anna Chahal, Transfor{m}ama is in the business of supporting and encouraging moms to be their best self. Newly reopened in their beautiful, new-to-them building (formerly The Second Hand Rose) in midtown, they've created the perfect venue to connect moms.

With welcoming spaces, local art for sale, and colorful, eclectic furniture in every corner, Transfor{m}ama is guaranteed to be your new favorite home-away-from-home. By offering fun classes, childcare, workspace, and coffee, it's a mom's dream come true.

What is a co-working space?

Transfor{m}ama is a place where moms can come to recharge, relax, or work. There's comfortable seating throughout the space, a computer "work" bar along the front windows, plenty of table or desk space, and lots of charging areas. Complimentary WiFi and coffee or tea make this space the perfect one for businesses meetings or to just get some work done. Add on a childcare package, and you can drop off your kid in a safe and fun environment while you get your to-do list checked off! Transfor{m}ama also offers monthly networking events and professional workshops. Check their calendar for details.

Stay & Play

With weekly exercise, yoga, and dance classes for every level, Transfor{m}ama has the goal of providing health and wellness to Memphis families. Join a community of moms (and dads!) for a variety of fitness classes! Transfor{m}ama is home to Fit4Mom, My Mama Body Yoga, and more.

Fun for Kids, too!

Transfor{m}ama is also host to a variety of classes made for tiny toes, including kids' yoga, kids' dance, Sunfish Theatre classes, tumbling, toddler book club, and many special (and seasonal), family events.

Veterans Day and Our Kids
My first memories of celebrating Veterans Day are from elementary school. In my tiny hometown of Bruceton, TN, we had an awesome celebration each year to honor veterans in the area. Since our school had kindergarten through 12th grade in the same building, the entire school attended the program. I have such fond memories of the Veterans of […]
