In preparation and anticipation of our awesome event planned for this Friday, the team here at Memphis Moms Blog was recently discussing how much we love Costco, and the many many reasons why we love it so much.
Really quickly, though: Have you heard about our Costco Mom Hour event that's happening this Friday? No?! Well, shoot. You can read more about it here.
Here is a very compressed list of the top reasons we as moms just absolutely love Costco {in no particular order}:
- Samples. You've done it. You've made a meal out of Costco's free samples. We all have. There's no reason to be ashamed.
- Prices. We mustn't forget how awesome the prices are at Costco! You can buy healthy and organic food for much cheaper than at the regular grocery store, and the prices on meat just cannot be beat. They also carry electronics like TVs, printers, laptops, DVD players... you name it, they carry it, and for an unbeatable price. Their extended warranty on their electronics is worth every penny, as well. Have a Keurig? Well, their K-cups are priced even lower than most of the ones you find on Amazon Prime! Cheap and quick caffeine? That alone is reason enough to get a Costco membership in our opinion.
- One word: Bulk. Because running out of toilet paper, tissues, or baby wipes is just not an option. And while we're on the subject, we absolutely cannot get enough of the Kirkland brand baby wipes!
- Non-bulk items. Costco is more than just a bulk store. Their pre-made food is perfect for when you get home from the store and just want to throw something in the oven really quick and not cook something from scratch. They also sell some great lunchbox items, for when your kids are sick and tired of the same old peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch every day!
- Life changing demonstrations. We're talking truly life changing here, folks. If they're demonstrating it at Costco, you can be pretty confident that the product is amazing.
Those sweet old ladies at the sample tables convinced me I had to have that soda stream and it changed my life.

- Party planning is a breeze. Gone are the days of driving from place to place to get all your party supplies. From flowers for centerpieces, to prepared appetizers, to meat and fresh baked cakes, Costco has you covered. You can even buy all your paper products and plastic utensils for an awesome price. There's no way you can have a bad celebration when you're a Costco member!
- Gift-buying made easy. Earlier we mentioned electronics. Who doesn't love electronics for Christmas? You can also buy the coolest toys, books, DVDs, and clothes. Need to make a gift basket for someone? Head to Costco and get everything you need from the items in the basket to the basket itself. They even carry ribbon and wrapping paper. Talk about a one-stop Christmas shop!
November 13: Costco Mom Hour
Speaking of Christmas shopping, wouldn't it be just so awesome if you could get a huge chunk of it done before the crowds hit the store? Well, Costco is opening up an hour early at two Memphis-area locations on November 13 in order to let moms do just that!
Not a Costco member? First off, it's ok. We won't judge you. Secondly, that's ok with Costco, too! You can still attend the Costco Mom Hour event, and receive a bag full of free Kirkland brand products. And enjoy some free food and hang out with other moms from the Memphis area! You'll also get the opportunity to see what all Costco has to offer, and you can take advantage of the amazing membership deal they're offering! Current members who bring their non-member friends who sign up at the event will also get a little extra something from Costco!
