A Guide to {LOCAL} Boxed Kits & Subscription Boxes

Small businesses are really thinking outside the box during this time of pandemic (or inside the box. get it? box kits? whew. ok. this social isolation is really getting to me). We think it's really cool and really honorable that locally owned businesses are getting creative. Restaurants aren't the only places offering curbside or delivery options! Many places (some you probably would be surprised about!) are offering take-home DYI kits to help save us mama's sanity. Other businesses are offering subscription boxes of fun -- crafts, gifts, even goodies -- mailed right to your doorstep! The following listings are all local and all awesome:

Boxed Kits

Art & Crafts

  1. Belltower Artisans
    Belltower’s take home pottery kits are a great way to keep you and your kids’ hands active and working while home from school. With 4 lessons to choose from, kids of all ages will now have access to a creative handmade activity at home. Return to Belltower later to have it fired and glazed! All materials, tools, and instructions needed are provided in the box.
  2. Paint-A-Piece
    Need some creative time with the littles or even some grown up creative time? We've got you covered! Check out our selection online of Curbside Pottery to Go. Purchase online and we will pack up a kit with everything you need. All paints and brushes are included at no additional cost. We will text you when your order is ready.  Then just give us a call at 901-754-0884 when you are headed our way and we will set it outside at our pickup station for a zero contact pickup. Done painting? Drop it off during our business hours (Mon-Sat 2-5pm) and we'll get it glazed and fired!
  3. Easel Town
    Crafting can get complicated. What supplies do we need? Uh oh, we're out of glue. This is why Easel Town is amazing. Choose from a variety of themed "art boxes to go" and everything you need, including step by step instructions, are included! Information about which art boxes are available can be found on their business Facebook page. How to buy: comment WANT, provide paints colors if requested and the first name of the artist receiving the kit. Or visit their website and click "shop" to peruse the various kits available! Payments can also be made through PayPal or Venmo. Curbside pickup. Delivery for families in the Memphis city limits is available for an additional $5.

  4. Pitter Potter
    This is your supply kit for painting your ceramic masterpieces! Each kit includes 6 colors of your choice from our paint chart as well as a 10-piece high-quality brush kit, a disposable apron and a tips sheet with a few ceramic painting guidelines.
